Data terms

Tehran Index publishes source-linked research on Iran’s digital economy. We want this work read, cited, and checked — and we protect the underlying datasets that make it possible. In plain language:

Always free

Reading everything published on this site. Citing our research in articles, reports, academic work, and internal memos with attribution to Tehran Index (a link where the medium allows). Personal, non-commercial research use of pages and published figures. Sharing links to any page.

Free with attribution

Reuse of individual published figures, charts, or excerpts in non-commercial work, credited “Tehran Index (tehranindex.com)”. Downloadable datasets carry their own header stating scope and license; the attribution requirement travels with the file.

Requires a license

Commercial reuse or resale of our data or datasets. Redistribution of datasets or substantial portions of the database, in any form. Automated or bulk extraction of pages or records (scraping, crawling for data collection, systematic downloading). Use of our content or data to train machine-learning models. Integration of our data into commercial products, terminals, or feeds. For licensing: desk@tehranindex.com.

Dataset integrity

Published datasets carry stable Tehran Index record identifiers and dataset fingerprints so copied data is identifiable. We never plant false facts. Install figures in the App Index are store display buckets, not exact national totals — each file states its own scope, capture dates, and methodology version. If you believe a figure is wrong, tell us: corrections are published, never silent.
