Most coverage of Iran's economy is unverifiable. Ours is built to be checked: every claim traceable, every standard published, every correction acknowledged.
We monitor 34 sources daily across Persian and English: sector media, company announcements, app marketplaces, regulatory publications, and primary market data including Shaparak payment statistics, central bank publications, and company annual reports. Multilingual, in-market coverage is the foundation of the platform; most of what matters in this economy is never published in English.
Iran operates with multiple exchange rates. Tehran Index reports figures in toman (the unit Iranians actually use; 1 toman = 10 rials), and converts to U.S. dollars only at the free-market rate, always stating the rate and date used. We never mix official and market rates without saying so; the difference between them is itself market information.
Tehran Index covers business, technology, and markets. We do not cover politics, security topics, or individuals outside their public business roles. Regulation is covered as a market variable (what a rule means for companies and consumers), never as political commentary.
When we get something wrong, we correct it visibly and say what changed. Trust compounds slowly and dies instantly; we optimize for the long way.
Tehran Index is independently operated. We accept no payment for coverage. Commissioned research is clearly scoped, and never alters what we publish publicly.
