Iran's e-commerce turnover exceeded 5500 trillion toman in 2024-25

Reza Olfatnasab, head of Iran's Virtual Businesses Union, said e-commerce turnover exceeded 5500 trillion toman in the year just ended, speaking on digital-economy resilience at TEDx Alef on 25 Tir 1405 (16 July 2026); dated from that address, the year referred to is 1404 (2025-26), or 2025-26. In the same remarks he put e-commerce orders at more than 1.357 billion, but attributed that count explicitly to 1403 (2024-25), and said more than 306000 businesses now hold the e-Namad electronic trust seal. The source mixes the two reference years and does not reconcile them. At an unsourced conversion the turnover is roughly $89B; the toman figure is the reliable read.
